Review: 🇺🇸 Tim’s Potato Chip, Jalapeño

A couple of firsts with this one: my first time trying Tim’s chips, and my first time trying jalapeño flavored kettle chips! I know, I know, have I been living under a rock? I've just never chosen jalapeño over my usual first choice, which is just salted kettle chips. These were good though, and did make me curious to try others to see how they compare! The bag is classic/old timey, and the chips do reflect this. They don’t taste overly manufactured but are not too rustic/heavy-handed like fresh kettle chips are. The crunch was good, the chip was nice and crispy due to the thinner (by kettle chip standards) chip. The bag was almost 80% curled/folded through which I do not like, but recognize most people do 😜

The flavor itself, I’ll admit I didn’t love at first. The chip isn’t super chili pepper flavored (jalapeño is a chili pepper, right?), but is instead slightly spicy - not hot 🔥, like the bag indicates - and slightly tart. But the flavor did grow on me, and my theory is that the jalapeno flavor is not fresh jalapeño, but pickled jalapeño? Is this somewhat accurate, fellow chip lovers? - 📍Found: CVS, Hollywood Los Angeles - So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats: Saltiness: MEDIUM-HIGH Flavor level: MEDIUM Thickness: THIN-MEDIUM

Opinion ratings (1-10): Crunch: 7.6 Texture: 7.2 Flavor: 7.0

Overall: 7.3 Overall a decent score! If I rated the bag from chip #1, I would say it was a 5.5 - but as I ate it went higher and higher. These are a solid and satisfying snack, but mostly what it did is just make me curious about other Tim's Chips, as well as other jalapeño chips.
