Review: 🇺🇸 Tim’s Potato Chips Sour Cream & Onion

What a pleasant surprise! Prior to this account, I’ve never even had @timscascadesnacks before. Now, I’m obsessed!

I’m normally not a big fan of sour cream & onion chips. Of course I like the flavor combination, but I tend to not go for them often and the few I’ve tried I remember as being just ok - #Pringles(kind of cardboard-y), #Ruffles (good but forgettable), and Lay’s (love Classic #Lays, but not a big fan of the flavored ones like SC&O or BBQ). I like the Ritz Crisps of Sour Cream & Onion, but kind stopped pursuing a good SC&O Chip. LUCKILY I picked these up because they really are quite wonderful and defied what I thought I liked in a chip. First off, the crunch and fry of this chip is amazing. The chips are extra thick and even though I normally prefer thin chips, they are still fried so well that even the thick thick chip breaks well and results in the most satisfying crunch ever. Second, the thickness of the chip supports the strong flavor. The Sour Cream flavor is creamy and tart, the Onion flavor is slightly sweet and delicious, and the flavor is a perfect blend of the two. The chips are also very well seasoned and salted enough so none of the flavor falls flat. -📍 It’s All About The Bread, Los Angeles

So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats: Saltiness: HIGH Flavor level: HIGH Thickness: MEDIUM-THICK

Opinion ratings (1-10): Crunch: 9.8 Texture: 9.8 Flavor: 10.0

Overall: 9.8 I can say with confidence that this is my favorite sour cream & onion chip. This has for sure raised the bar, and I’d be pretty amazed if I discover a better SC&O chip. I only knocked the crunch and texture by 0.2 points because there are a lot of double and even quadruple curls and the thick thick chip does make those slightly too hard, but even then it’s a delicious bite. The flavor is a perfect sour cream & onion.

Weird how ‘salt’ is listed as an ingredient for these, because they were not salty at. All. Which is a shame, because these are...
