The best onion #chips I’ve ever had! Leave it to the French to come up with a delicious but perfectly balanced onion chip. The only other onion potato chip I’ve had were from Hawaiian Brand, and they were the opposite of subtle - a punch in the gut of salty salty onion powder. Which of course I enjoyed, but @sochipsofficielshows me the power of deliberate subtlety and letting quality ingredients shine. Simple but decadent and again, very #French. The onion flavor is strong but natural, and they used both fresh onion powder AND grilled onion, so you really get that full bodied onion flavor. The salt level was low, but I didn’t mind it again, since the chip was flavored quite well from the onion, oil, and believe it or not, the potato.
I’ve described it before in the comments of a previous post. The difference I could detect from this chip versus high quality chips from other countries (thinking of #Koikeya Pride from Japan, Boulder Canyon/Luke’s Organic from the US), is these are effortlessly high quality. The potato tastes very potato-y, but is not artificially enhanced. It just tastes like a #potato that was grown from incredibly fertile land, with good water, and good overall environment. Think of when you eat an avocado from California versus one in the UK. California just has the better natural land for avocado, so produce from there would naturally be higher quality. The other brands taste more like you hand-picked the best potatoes, these just seem like the entire potato field was excellent. - 📍Merci beaucoup @sochipsofficiel for sending these to me!
