✈️ Chipalytics Travels!
You know how Japanese chips always have a slight cup noodle taste, no matter the flavor? I find that #Mexican#chips always have a slight spiced and smoky chili taste, no matter the flavor. This one by #Sabritas is no different, the flavor on the bag is adobadas, which Google Translate says is “marinated”. The picture on the front of a 🌶 red chili and 🍅tomato is more representative of the flavor though, which I would describe as a slightly roasted tomato. The tomato flavor is a little tart/tangy, slightly like an aftertaste of tomato paste. It’s also more like when you have #roastedtomato salsa that’s still a brighter red color instead of the browner colored red #salsa. Perfect flavor and salt level, not underflavored or under seasoned at all or overwhelming.
The chips are thin, but not fried to oblivion. It’s not a hard fry, more like a light fry? I could almost still feel the texture of the potato as a potato, not as a fully fried crisp - and it’s nice. The chip was also not oily/greasy, I’ve found that Mexican chips generally do not have that grease slick feel. - 📍Random convenience store, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
