Review: 🇲🇽 Runners

✈️ Chipalytics Travels! I think Barcel is the other big chip manufacturer in #Mexico in addition to #Sabritas (which is @fritolay), since they also make ❤️ Takis ❤️. These are Runners by #Barcel, and are little 2in length racecar shaped seasoned corn chips. Racecar is a palindrome, spelled the same forward and backwards in case you forgot this tidbit from 4th grade. You’re welcome!

The flavor is spiced with chili and lime, with the lime flavor stronger than the chili but both are noticeable. It’s tangy, spiced, and flavored nicely, but once again not spicy-spicy. I haven’t had a chip yet in Mexico on #FlamingHotlevel, which I actually appreciate. The corn chip itself doesn’t have the grill effect of #Takis or the ground corn texture like #Fritos/#Doritos - it’s a pretty uniform dense corn chip with a good crunch because it’s somewhat brittle. I think in general though shapes are less ideal for holding flavor, think shaped box mac and cheese (Spongebob, Spider-Man) versus classic elbow macaroni. Should be obvious which one is a better carrier for consistent flavor.📍Random convenience store, San Jose del Cabo, Mexico
