Luke’s Organic makes three multigrain & seed chips, the already-reviewed Protein blue corn/red lentil, Superfood sweet potato, and this last one is Kale. This was similar to the blue corn chip, good crunch and texture, a nice chip for dipping. But instead of the earthy flavor from blue corn/lentil, this had a slightly fragrant flavor from the #kale. You can see bits of kale on the chip, but the chip itself isn’t a veggie chip per se. The kale is definitely more of a secondary flavor, which is nice since I think kale as a primary flavor would overwhelm this chip and conflict with any dip you use with it. One thing to shout out is because the flavor of this chip is more mild, Luke’s really does do a clean and excellent fry their mix of red palm, safflower, and sunflower oil. There’s not a strong oil flavor, but you can detect a light fatty taste that’s not heavy/overwhelming/shitty tasting.
Similar to the other chips though, I don’t think this is a standalone snack. Of course you could eat it alone, like sometimes people eat dry cereal, but I think it’s much more suited for a dip (just like cereal is WITH milk, don't @ me). This chip was also not very salty, so even if it was a dipping chip, I did wish there was more salt. Ultimately - this chip is a good choice for health without sacrificing satisfaction too much, it’s not a junk food-y tortilla chip that’s gross oily and salty. - 📍Thank you SO much to @lukes_organicfor sending me these!
