This is my favorite chip from my latest Japanese chip haul so far! The đȘđŒSTRONG flavor did actually hold up, which was extra impressive because I did a two chip session and these were after #Doritos Flavor Shots (shouldâve thought the order out beforehand). Regardless, the flavor still held its own, it was a pepper flavor, well seasoned and salted. The pepper was not a natural pepper flavor though, I can only describe it as a cup noodle version of pepper with an emphasis on white pepper. A lot of these Japanese snacks try to capture that umami/cup noodle flavor, and these do it the best so far out of what Iâve tried.
The chip itself is only ok, it has small ridges and was appropriate thickness, but wasnât very crispy. But because of the ridges and not being too thick, they still had an ok crunch. - đNijiya Market, West LA
So whatâs going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats:
Saltiness: MEDIUM-HIGH
Flavor level: MEDIUM-HIGH
Thickness: MEDIUM
Opinion ratings (1-10):
Crunch: 6.9
Texture: 7.5
Flavor: 7.8
Overall: 7.3
These were a good pick up! Iâm so cliche with my American tastes, I like what the Japanese describe as STRONG flavor the best so far đ
