Last post was kettle chips perfection with Original @capecodchips, today is...less than perfection kettle chips. The main caveat here is that I’m normally not an big fan of honey mustard - sauce, dip, salad dressings etc. I sometimes use it for chicken strips but it usually goes ketchup>bbq sauce>hot sauce>ranch sauce>honey mustard for me. And for salad I never get honey mustard, so know that while I don’t hate the flavor combo, it's just rarely what I go for.
Caveat aside, I’m usually less than impressed with @kettlebrand’s chip base. I find them them to be too hard, with an inconsistent crunch and doesn’t “break” well. I’d describe it as slightly stale (doesn’t matter that the bag was just opened) with a slight bend/resistance before breaking. This is especially egregious when you encounter the thick ass folded ones - definitely into the trash with those 😂. And as with the other flavors I’ve tried from the brand, there’s not enough salt to balance the #HoneyDijon flavor. The flavor itself isn’t bad though, if you were a #honeymustard lover you’d probably enjoy these if you choose to overlook the heavy handed chip. - 📍@wholefoods, West Hollywood
So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats:
Saltiness: MEDIUM
Flavor level: MEDIUM-HIGH
Thickness: MEDIUM
Opinion ratings (1-10):
Crunch: 4.3
Texture: 5.5
Flavor: 5.0
Overall: 4.7
Yeah, not super into. It’s not an offensively bad snack, there are definitely parts of it I enjoy but overall not worth the calories. I’ll stick with the Kettle Chips Sea Salt flavor if I had to get one from the brand.
