Uh, hello @KettleBrand. Good job on another delicious chip flavor on a great chip base 🤤 This time it’s #pepperoncini - basically Italian hot chili peppers, usually marinated. You know those little yellow peppers you can get at #Italiandelis/pizzerias/some burger places? Yeah, those dank little things. I’ve really come around to love Kettle Chip’s chip base. They have a really good hard fry on the #chips, so it results in a well-done chip that got its ass kicked by a hot oil bath, but is not beyond recognition. Boy, that analogy became kind of gruesome real fast. But basically the fry was really hard, so the #potatoes are well done and the moisture from the potatoes evaporated, resulting in fun air bubbles. This adds to the fantastic crunch and texture of the chip, and my favorite #kettlechips are usually the unfolded ones with lots of different sized air bubbles. Also Kettle uses decent potatoes and oil for the chip, otherwise this cooking method could go wrong (gross oil, low quality potatoes really do NOT make a good kettle chip). A pepperoncini is not really spicy, but not sweet either. They actually constructed the flavor using a blend of pepper flavoring - #jalapenoand bell - plus herbs and spices to round out the flavor. There’s garlic, onion, parsley, and tanginess from the vinegar to emulate the marinated #pepper. I’d say the flavor has that non-spicy, non-sweet pepper flavor, like a marinated jalapeno with pretty much all the heat removed. Only comment is while the flavor is very good, I wish there was a bit more of it to season the kettle cooked potato chip base.
