Puffy round boi! What a fun novelty #snack, it tastes pretty true to takoyakis and even has the signature sphere shape. If you’ve never had #takoyaki, it’s a famous street food from Osaka, Japan. It’s a seasoned a ball of batter and (most commonly) octopus, and then brushed with a sweetened/seasoned sauce and mayo. Think of the sauce like a slightly sweet, soy sauce-y Worchestire sauce + a creamy and slightly sweet #Japanese mayonnaise. Surprisingly this snack is from #Korea, even though takoyaki is Japanese. Note that I’ve actually never had takoyaki in Japan, but I have had it in ramen shops or izakayas in the US - so my experience with it may not be perfect. But the flavor of this is fairly accurate to the ones I’ve tried, but is definitely on the sweeter side.
The corn puff is just a fun, airy round boi that’s fun to eat. Each sphere is around 1in. In diameter. It’s nice, and airy, and stays pretty crunchy and doesn’t dissolve too much in your mouth. It also has a bit of corn taste, but it’s not too strong and doesn’t clash at all with the flavor.
