Review: 🇺🇸 Gold Emblem Hot Cheese Flavored Fries

Gold Emblem is CVS’s generic brand, and I don’t know what compelled me to pick these up other than seeing “Hot Cheese” on the bag lol. I don’t remember #Cheetos brand #HotFrieshaving cheese, and turns out I was right (there’s is only flavored corn & potato snacks). So this was pretty unique after all! I do need to try Hot Fries again though since I feel like that’s the most widely distributed similar chip... But without a direct comparison to anything, these are ~2in long, 3/4in wide little hot fries made of a loose potato base. By loose, I mean it’s quite airy and not dense, and does that thing where it disintegrates in your mouth after a single chew. I remember Cheetos Hot Fries and #andycapp Fries being longer and denser, whereas these are shorter, wider, and looser. The flavor is interesting, it’s a mix of spice/pepper + onion powder + paprika PLUS cheese powder flavor. The #cheese includes #cheddar and blue cheese, and while the flavor isn’t that cheesy, you do get an aftertaste of a slight cheese tang. The primary flavor is still the spicy, and I’d say these are about as spicy as #FlamingHot, but less overall spicy because the flavor powder is less concentrated (more airy base, less powder, therefore less spicy). Overall not a bad chip but not one I’d reach for again, I’d rather have a straight up cheese fry like Andy Capp or Cheetos Hot Fries with no cheese. - 📍@cvspharmacy, Hollywood
