When I posted about my new favorite cheese puffs by šBarbaraāsš, I mentioned how sometimes companies go overboard with cheese tanginess to āproveā being more natural and healthier. Yeah, these do that. @barbarasbakery didnāt overdo it at all (theirs was a perfect blend of just the right amount of cheese sharpness), but these are quite tangy. The tang comes from a variety of cheeses - buttermilk, cheddar, and romano. While I did think it was a tad overdone at first, the initial shock from the tang did go away and it ended up being a pretty decent cheese flavor blend. Itās not the best though since I do prefer less tang/buttermilk...and still would definitely choose the original #NachoCheese flavor over these.
The chip was pretty great though. It was your classic #Doritos triangle shape with noticeable ground corn bits. It was a little thinner than your normal Dorito, but that was welcomed since it still had a great crunch and crispiness. Not bad at all for a chip where all the ingredients are readable with no weird preservatives and artificial coloring. A decent choice for when you want @Doritos but donāt feel like a trash can, although there are probably better similar natural options if thatās what youāre looking for.
