Turned on my anime and opened up this bad boy, as this is a chip for my fellow weebs. Gonna be honest with you, this is not the chip for everyone - I would gauge it as if you’ve had and liked any shrimp chip (the long puff ones that are the most common), or maybe seafood flavored cup ramen, you have a higher chance of liking these. Otherwise they might be kind of far out since the 🦐🍤flavor is stronger than those two examples. It tastes like a combo of whole dried shrimp, shrimp head/shell, dehydrated seafood, and bonito flakes. The flavor, like with most things Japanese, is an intense and almost artificial version from a natural/fresh shrimp flavor. Sometimes that’s great, like the super milky fake strawberry flavor, but this time it manifests as potentially polarizing.
The chip itself is actually great though. It’s a potato chip with zero potato flavor or texture (ha), and is definitely about 30% smaller than your average US of A potato chip. The chip is still thin though, and the crazy thing is how incredible crispy/crunchy it is. I didn’t even mind the curled pieces!

So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats:
Saltiness: MEDIUM-HIGH
Flavor level: MEDIUM-HIGH
Thickness: THIN
Opinion ratings (1-10):
Crunch: 9.5
Texture: 7.0
Flavor: 6.0
Overall: 6.1
Not a chip for everyone, and even from someone who has Asian tastes, the shrimp/fishy flavor did get a little much towards the end of the bag. The airy and excellent crunch did still make it easy to eat the whole bag though lol, but not sure I’d be repurchasing unless I get a super random and specific craving.
