Ok, ow. Ow. While this chip is indeed quite gourmet with just three ingredients - potato, safflower oil, and French Mediterranean Salt (yes, that’s what it said on the bag), it was the hardest chip I’ve ever had. There were some chips or part of chips that were crispier, but most were extremely hard and suuuper thicc. Chomping through these was work and I couldn’t even finish the bag because my. Jaw. Hurt. That’s how hard these are! 😖
The potato flavor was pretty good though, it tasted like fresh chips you’d get at a restaurant or farmers market, but the fry tasted a bit like it was done in old oil. You know when you go to a shit-tier fast food place late at night, and you get some random/not popular side like jalapeño poppers, and they’re darker than normal and taste...old? That’s old oil. These kind of had that lol. Also super undersalted for being this thicc. - 📍@bristolfarms, Hollywood
So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats:
Saltiness: LOW
Flavor level: LOW
Thickness: THICK
Opinion ratings (1-10):
Crunch: 2.5
Texture: 2.0
Flavor: 4.5
Overall: 2.9
I rarely dislike chips this much because normally it’s like pizza - even when it’s bad it’s good - but these are straight up not good. Microwaving helped a little but I had an existential moment while the timer was going down like “Is this my life now? Microwaving chips?”
