These chips are SO GOOD. Boulder Canyon is one of my top chip brands, their olive oil, avocado oil, and rice bran oil fried kettle chips are all fantastic. So even going into this review with high expectations, these did not disappoint.
In my opinion these are how kettle chips SHOULD be done. The chip itself is the perfect thickness, rustic-ness (if that makes sense), crispy/well fried, good potato flavor and texture, and a good amount of air bubbles - but not too greasy. So good!
The red chile flavor was what was new to me and they’re definitely seasoned as the primary flavor - not overly salted which I think would be a conflict. The flavoring doesn’t visually look like it coats every chip evenly, but all chips were still seasoned well. I didn’t find the lighter ones to be bland, the entire bag was delicious and addicting! The chips were also so crispy I ended up eating even the folded pieces.

So what’s going on with this chip? Here are its highly scientific stats: Saltiness: MEDIUM
Flavor level: MEDIUM-HIGH
Thickness: THIN-MEDIUM
Opinion ratings (1-10): Crunch: 9.8
Texture: 9.8
Flavor: 8.2 Overall: 9.0
Highly recommended chip and overall chip brand. A must try for kettle chip lovers! This red chile flavor is simple and delicious, but not spicy. If you wanted a spicy chip, this is not the one to pick. This is one to pick if you want an excellent kettle chip with a slightly different flavor.
