Can someone get on this? I feel like thereâs no good Ruffle-like finely rippled plain salt potato chips. Of course there are great larger ridged #chips on the market, but no good âRufflesâ. Ruffles are a good base for flavor (Sour Cream & Cheddar, Flaming Hot, with a dip, yum) or accompanying a sandwich, but alone itâs quite an underwhelming chip. These are #WholeFoods 365 Brand version, and theyâre also very underwhelming. Although I do slightly like them more than plain Ruffles.
The main issues I have with these plain salted rippled chips are that theyâre really undersalted and the crunch is on the hard side. Because the salt level is so low, you mostly taste oil. The oil isnât trash-tier, but itâs not great either. So it doesnât have that nice aftertaste that a higher quality oil would have. The crunch/texture is also hard, so itâs just a textured, hard disk of mostly fried-until-clear #potatochips. The reason why I slightly preferred these over #Ruffles is because you can tell these are slightly higher quality/less processed. Which for a plain chip, can be quite noticeable. And of course I still ate the bag because itâs definitely an acceptable snack still, but I canât see a scenario where I would pick these over another plain potato chip available at Whole Foods (eg. @BoulderCanyon, @KettleBrand, @JacksonsHonest). - đ@wholefoods, West Hollywood
