My first chips de France! I thought I’d start off with my first #French chip ever with a classic salted potato chip, which is also my preferred way of getting to know a chip brand 🤓 Just from the bag, I can tell So Chips take #graphicdesign seriously, and that they use eco-responsible farming and #allnatural ingredients. My perception and knowledge of French tastes are in line with this chip - decadent but simple with an emphasis on high quality ingredients. These are delicious, and in a way that is definitely different compared to chips in the US.
You can tell all of the 3 ingredients are high quality - the potatoes, oil, and salt. The potatoes taste so so natural, even compared with the most natural brands in America (Kettle, Boulder Canyon, etc). They definitely seem like the 🥔 were hand-picked, as they say on the bag! The flavor of the potato is what the chip leads with, there’s a bit of potato skin on every chip, and the salt level of the chip is low. Normally low salt is not what I prefer, and while I still would’ve preferred a bit more salt, turns out if the flavor of the other ingredients is excellent, you don’t need to salt them to death! So yummy. The #chips are fairly translucent from the hard and slow cauldron/kettle fry, they break well and are the perfect thickness for a great crunch. These are also more oily than your average American potato chip (really holding to the French preferring more decadent food), but it was still so good since the oil was a high quality tasting sunflower oil with good flavor. 📍Merci beaucoup @sochipsofficiel for sending these to me! You can find out more about them (including free EU shipping) on their Instagram.
